Yeah, I love this page. I was suddenly struck with inspiration by the view of the back of a standard Florida strip mall. it had such simple lines and strong shadows. I thought of it all day. So, I drew it and also practiced some other iterations. I’ve also been watching a lot of the Powerpuff Girls, and somehow I feel that this is related to that. Part of this is practice for a future project I want to work on.
This was from a dear day with friends on the lake near the school I grew up at, where I developed my first sense of self.
I watched everyone practice their dives while I worked on layers while the horizon kept changing.
A plane sketch on the way back from Portand. It’s not my best, the perspective is off. But felt good to do nonetheless.
Blackie from Twin Peaks is such an iconic, visually interesting character. It was fun to lean into the cartooniness of her. Also somehow relates to the Powerpuff Girls in my mind.
